I would like to offer a general disclaimer for this blog - while I apologize that posts will most likely seem vague or, at best, only semi-informational, realize that much of this weblog references things that affect the operations and security of more than just this soldier. Therefore, to avoid pulling a Geraldo, I can't really offer dates, numbers, locations, etc.. MOST IMPORTANTLY: Nothing in this blog should be considered fact, indeed, it only represents my opinion. Thank you for your understanding!

I'm back!!!

August 26, 2004 10:52 PM

WOW. This has been an exciting day. I haven’t posted in almost a week due to the fact that I’ve been preparing the new site. There have been several complications with this, but the most surreal occurred today. From what I can tell, only three-five of you actually know what happened. But somehow, a guy by the name Josh Gallo was able to use “dailyjosh.blogspot.com” as his blog domain. This isn’t his doing. It isn’t mine. It was some mess that we have Blogger to thank for. However, Josh was obviously nice enough to change the name of his blog to something else so I could get dailyjosh.blogspot.com back. This is obvious due to the fact that you are reading this now.

So, let’s all thank Josh Gallo for being a nice guy and letting me have our blog back!

Thanks, Josh Gallo.

Now, the new website is set up. It’s ugly as all get out. The default style that comes with the page leaves a lot to be desired, so before I start using that as the main blog, I will continue posting here for about a week, and then I will change this blog to automatically redirect you to the new homepage for a while, until I feel that enough of you have had time to bookmark the new page. If you would like to see it in action as things progress, the url is joshuaherman.com.

Yay, I own my own domain. This website is hosted on a server at Benassi & Benassi, P.C., so I would like to thank Lou and Patricia Benassi for allowing me to use their server space to host my site. Further, we all owe Quentin Smith a big thank you. He has been a tremendous help in getting this thing up and running from half-way around the world. Quentin – I owe you big time. I think that Athena said you read this on occasion – so I hope that you read this part especially. Thanks for all of your help. I cannot repay you, but anything you want and I can give – it’s yours.

Chris, I haven’t meant to ignore you. We had a schedule change and the new site has been taking up a lot of my time. I have some things to say in response to what you wrote. But, important things first. You said that you need camel-back cleaner. Be more specific, and I’ll see what I can do about getting you something. Anything else you need, let me know. I can’t get much that is Navy-specific, as we only have one Navy contingent here on post – they call themselves the “Sand Squids” and have a pretty cool logo to go with it. Anyway, let me know what’s up.

Till joshuaherman.com is up and fully operational, I’ll post at both places. Here and there. Bare with me for a little while longer and we’ll get there. OH. Law School applications are coming due. And despite being in a warzone, I have to prepare those too. So, I’m going to be busy with extracurriculars for a while it would seem. Please be patient with me. If I leave something out, or don’t talk about stuff that you would like, let me know and I will do my best to accommodate.

This was just a short note to let you guys know what was going on. I hope that it has been informational.
